Kathmandu valley witnesses 910 new cases of coronavirus in 24 hours



KATHMANDU: With 910 new cases of coronavirus infection in past 24 hours, Kathmandu valley has seen the surge in the pandemic cases again.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 593 people have been infected with COVID-19 in Kathmandu, 128 in Bhaktapur and 189 in Lalitpur.

Earlier, the capital valley had seen 701 coronavirus cases on Friday, and 1,075 on Thursday.

The country recorded a total of 3,218 new cases of coronavirus while 1,885 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

Of the confirmed cases, 2,231 were detected through RT-PCR method and 987 from antigen-method.

here had been 13,573 tests carried out in past 24 hours out of which 8,866 were RT-PCR tests and 4,707 were antigen.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, altogether 19 infected patients died of the virus infection in the past 24 hours.

With the recent death toll, total deaths caused due to COVID-19 reached 10,038 in the country.
