Eleven personalities feted with Ganeshman Singh Democracy Fighter Honor



KATHMANDU: The Ganeshman Singh Democracy Fighter Honor is to be conferred on 11 various personalities.

The Ganeshman Singh Foundation is awarding the Honor to the democracy activists who were associated with the movement for democracy waged by leader Ganeshman Singh in 1990.

The Honor is instituted to the memory of the commander of the 1990 Democracy Movement, the late Ganeshman Singh, who is also known as the ‘Iron Man’ in Nepal’s politics for his unparalleled struggle for democracy.

The Foundation is presenting the award to Chorendra Man Singh Pradhan, Raj Krishna Amatya, Arabinda Thakur (posthumously), Surya Prasad Regmi (posthumously), Giriraj Kumari Prasain (posthumously), Shree Patanath Joshi, photojournalist Meen Ratna Bajracharya, Romhari Adhikari, Dhruba Khanal, senior journalist Bhairab Risal and Dilli Prasad Sitaula.

The Foundation feted democracy fighter Khanal and senior photojournalist Bajracharya with the Honor on Tuesday.

The Honor would be presented to the nine personalities gradually, Foundation’s office secretary Dharma Ratna Pachhau said.

Nepali Congress former general secretary Prakash Man Singh honored Khanal and Bajracharya on Tuesday, presenting them with a certificate, shawl, and cash award of Rs 25 thousand each. RSS
