KUSHMA: Three people including an engineer have gone missing after a vehicle boarded by them was swept away by a swollen rivulet in Parbat district.

According to Chief District Officer Devi Pandey Khatri of Parbat, three people went missing after a vehicle boarded by them was swept away by swollen Sundarkhola near district headquarters Kushma at 11 pm yesterday.

“They were swept away while crossing the swollen rivulet at 11 pm yesterday,” said CDO Khatri, adding, “A search operation has been on since Tuesday night but no traces of vehicles and the missing ones have been recovered till now.”

Engineer Rajaram Acharya, the driver and a local were traveling in the ill-fated vehicle belonging to the Lama Construction Company.

The identities of the driver and the local are yet to be ascertained, said DSP Shiva Raj Budhathoki, the in-charge of District Police Office, Parbat.

The vehicle was heading to Dimuwa from Kushma when the incident took place.
