KATHMANDU: Police have warned against the misuse of social media to commit immoral acts and character assassinations.

The Cyber ​​Bureau of Nepal Police issued a note on Monday warning those who create, publish and broadcast sub-standard materials with the intention of abuse through social media.

“Complaints and application of social media misuse are under investigation. It is requested to refrain from creating, publishing and broadcasting obscene and socially non-acceptable content through social media for the purpose of character assassination and harassing others.”

The bureau warned that action will be taken under the Electronic Transaction Act if anyone is found engaged in such activities.
