Third round of vaccination against COVID-19 for elderly to be rolled out on May 8-9



KATHMANDU: The third round of vaccination drive against COVID-19 will be carried out in Chitwan district on May 8-9 for elderly people within the age of 62 to 64 years.

According to the Chitwan Health Office Chief Deepak Tiwari, Chitwan has received 11,000 doses of VeroCell vaccines manufactured by China.

The elderly citizens will be administered the vaccines in their own locality and necessary health safety protocols will be maintained during the vaccination drive, shared Tiwari.

A total of 39,000 people have received vaccines in the district having seven municipalities in the first and second phases.

Meanwhile, the first doses of the Chinese vaccine -VeroCell-will be administered to the elderly above 60 years to 64 years in Budhanilakantha Municipality in Kathmandu district on May 8, 9, and 10.

According to Budhanilakantha Municipality spokesperson and ward no 10 chairman Nawaj Bhattarai, the vaccination campaign for the first phase will be launched in all the wards in the Municipality from 11 am to 4 pm.

Those elderly willing to get inoculated could reach out to Ganesh Secondary School at ward no 2, National Ideal Boarding School in ward no 9, Mandikhatar and Bal Uddhar Secondary School ward no 10 on those days, informed Bhattarai.
