NC President Deuba demands action against those involved in vaccine corruption

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has demanded action against those seeking commission in the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines.

Deuba, issuing a press note Friday, concluded that the game of commission had hindered the vaccine procurement process from the Serum Institute of India and demanded action against those involved.

“The government had revealed its true character by being involved in corruption of life-saving drug (COVID vaccine), which saves the lives of the people. I strongly condemn the immoral and corrupt actions of the government. I urge the authorities concerned to take stern action against anyone involved in such corruption,” the statement said.

He also said that crimes against the people would be unforgivable. He also demanded the government to immediately provide necessary oxygen, ICUs, vaccine and other medicines to save the lives of the people amidst the second wave of coronavirus.
