Police arrest ticket counter staff for charging exorbitant fare from passengers



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three persons on the charge of taking unreasonable fare from passengers.

Senior Superintendent of Police Janak Bhattarai informed that the Metropolitan Traffic Police arrested individuals taking fare three times more than the actual rate from the passengers on Friday.

Police have arrested Krishna Devkota, 43, of Dhanusha Mithila from Koteshwor, Khadga Bahadur Bhandari, 42, of Gourdaha, Jhapa, and Ram Surel, 34, of Dolakha Singti from Gaushala.

They had taken Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,500 each from foreign employment returnees going to Jhapa and Morang.
