UML decides to field Badal in the NA by-election



KATHMANDU: The CPN-UML has decided to field Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal as its candidate for the May 20 National Assembly by-election.

An informal meeting of the CPN-UML held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar Friday morning made the decision to this effect.

Earlier, Thapa had said that he would not contest the election until victory was assured.

After the meeting, Home Minister Thapa has left for Hetauda, ​​the capital of Bagmati, to nominate his candidature.
