Banke records 10 new deaths linked to COVID-19



NEPALGUNJ: Ten more people infected with COVID-19 have died in Banke district.

According to Tej Wali, a resource person of Banke District Public Health Office, eight among those dead are from Banke and one each from Bardiya and Kailali.

A 61-year-old man of Nepalgunj-10 died in the course of treatment at Bheri Hospital at 5 pm on Thursday.

Similarly, a 27-year-old woman of Kohalpur-10 and a 54-year-old man of Nepaalgunj-6, succumbed to the pandemic at Medical College, Kohalpur yesterday evening.

Similarly, a 47-year-old man of Barbardiya-6 passed away in the course of treatment at Bheri Hospital at 9 pm yesterday.

Likewise, a 48-year-old of Tikapur-2, Kailai succumbed to the virus at 11 pm, according to Wali.

A 34-year-old man of Nepalgunj-6, 56-year-old woman of Nepalgunj-18 and 52-year-old man died at Bheri Hospital on early Friday.

Likewise, a 60-year-old woman of Nepalgunj-12, 54-year-old woman of Nepalgunj-10 died at Medical College, Kohalpur this morning.

With this, the number of deaths from COVID-19 has reached 169 in Banke district.

With the increasing cases of COVID-19, the prohibitory order has been imposed in Banke district which will remain effective until May 14.
