India returnee dies from COVID-19 in Kanchanpur



KATHMANDU: A 45-year-old man infected with COVID-19 has passed away in the course of treatment in Sudurpashchim Pradesh.

Originally from Bhimdatta municipality-15, a COVID-19 patient died in the course of treatment at Mahakali Hospital, informed DSP Amar Bahadur Thapa, the spokesperson of District Police Office, Kanchanpur.

He was undergoing treatment at the hospital after he returned from Gujarat, India on April 4.

An arrangement is being made to dispose his body this afternoon, said Thapa.

This is the first death from COVID-19 with the start of the second wave of coronavirus infections in the province.
