Chinese COVID-19 vaccine being administered from today

KATHMANDU: The Nepal government is administering China-produced COVID-19 vaccine ‘Vero Cell’ from today.

The vaccine will be administered to the people aged between 18 and 59 years including professors, Nepali students pursuing their studies in China, those visiting China, people working at hotels, advertising and trekking agencies, Internet sector, pharmacies and fruits and vegetable shops.

The vaccine will be administered from 14 vaccination centers in the Kathmandu Valley designated by the government.

  1. Teku Hospital (Shukraraaj Tropical & Infectious Disease Hospital)
  2. Civil Service Hospital, Minbhawan
  3. TU Teaching Hospital
  4. Bir Hospital
  5. Paropakar Maternity & Women’s Hospital, Thapathali
  6. Birendra Hospital, Chhauni
  7. National Ayurveda Research and Training Center, Kirtipur
  8. Nepal Medical College, Attarkhel
  9. Kathmandu Medical College, Sinamangal
  10. Shahid Gangalal National Heart Center, Bansbari
  11. Nepal Armed Police Force Hospital, Balambu
  12. Nepal Police Hospital, Panipokhari
  13. Om Hospital and Research Center, Chabahil
  14. Chhetrapati Free Clinic, Chhetrapati

The 800,000 doses of vaccine produced by the Chinese vaccine company Sinopharm had arrived in Nepal on March 29.
