We have no weapons: Leader Bastola

KATHMANDU: Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party Secretariat Member Dharmendra Bastola has said joining the government was not their priority for now.

Talking to media persons today,  Bastola said further details would be revealed gradually as the 3-point agreement was struck with the government.

He, however, said his party was for extending cooperation to build such a government that ensures scientific socialism by resolving the anomalies in the parliamentary system.

“It does not mean we don’t join government. We will help the government to take the course of scientific socialism,” he stressed, adding that unity among all political parties for country development was imperative at present.

According to him, agreement is a preliminary thing. The political problems would be solved peacefully and party cadres released and ban on the party lifted.

“The Government began releasing party leaders and cadres who were in detention,” he said, arguing that his party had a comprehensive draft for solving country problems.

Leader Bastola asserted that his party cadres had no weapons. “There is no point in getting afraid of NCP,” he assured.
