EC to soon forward case on NCP’s authencity



KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) which has been facing pressures from all quarters of late has said it will resolve the issue surrounding the authenticity of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP).

The Commission has decided to expedite the case after Prachanda-Nepal faction reached the Office of the EC to claim the party’s legitimacy for the second time.

“A meeting of the EC scheduled for Sunday will possibly forward the case in line with the Section 43 and 44 of the Political Party Act, 2073,” said Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya.

Prachanda-Nepal faction had claimed the legitimacy of the party for the second time on Friday at a time when the EC was dillydallying to sort out the issue.
