Election Commissioner Bhandari entrusted the responsibility to resolve NCP dispute



KATHMANDU: Newly-appointed Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has been entrusted with the responsibility of resolving the dispute of the ruling Nepal Communist Party.

Commissioner Bhandari, who took the oath of office and secrecy on February 4, has been given the responsibility to deal with the split of political parties.

Bhandari, who is also a senior advocate, is currently analyzing the documents related to the NCP dispute, EC sources said.

According to the sources, he has already completed reading the 19-page letter sent by the Prachanda-Nepal faction claiming the authenticity of the party. The legal department of the EC has been assisting Bhandari in this regard.

The source further claimed that Bhandari has been entrusted with this responsibility as per the “regular process”.
