Dr Malla bags UN award

KATHMANDU: Superintendent of Police Dr Sangya Malla who is working in the peace keeping force in the Democratic Republic of Congo is to be presented with the 11th United Nations Women Police Officer Award.

The UN Peacekeeping Office announced through a press release today that UN Secretary-General António Guterres would hand the Award to Dr Malla on November 9.

Dr Malla is the Chief of the Health and Environment Unit of the Congo-based UN peace force. She had played an important role in the establishment of the Unit in Kinshasa, the capital of the DRC.
