Sitaula faction calls meeting to pick minister

Gagan Thapa invited

KATHMANDU: The Sitaula faction of the Nepali Congress (NC) is holding a meeting to finalize the name of a minister today.

Former General Secretary Krishna Prasad Sitaula has called the leaders of his faction to a meeting at Yellow Pagoda Hotel in Jamal.

Leaders Gagan Thapa, Bhimsen Das Pradhan, Pradip Paudel, Umakanta Chaudhary and Shiva Humagain have been invited to the meeting.

One of the leaders – either Pradhan or Chaudhary – will be picked as a minster to participate in the government, according to sources. One ministerial portfolio has been allocated for the Sitaula faction.

Sitaula is making preparations to submit the name to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba after finalizing it today itself.

If the coalition parties finalize the list of minsters today, Prime Minister Deuba will expand the cabinet tomorrow.
