RPP Chair Thapa objects plan to ‘bring local levels under Province govts’

KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party Kamal Thapa has objected to proposed government plan to bring the local level under the control of the province government.

Commenting on the government’s proposed minimum common program on Friday, RPP Chair criticized the plan saying it is wrong and objectionable.

“The province level, which has become a burden for the nation, should be abolished and the local level should be made more resourceful and empowered,” he said on social media, adding “Strong local autonomy is the backbone of democracy.”
