Vehicles used by Mayor and Deputy Mayor used to carry Covid-19 infected people

LUMBINI: The vehicles used by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Tilottama municipality in Rupandehi have been utilized to carry coronavirus infected people.

Mayor Basudev Ghimire and Deputy-Mayor Jageshwori Chaudhari decided to provide their vehicles for ferrying Covid-19 infected people.

They took the decision in this regard after the number of people infected with the coronavirus started increasing day by day as well as realizing the availability of ambulances was less.

The municipality has been operating two ambulances. With the decision of the Mayor and Deputy- Mayor, four vehicles would carry Covid-19 infected people.

Mayor Ghimire said that the vehicles used by them have been brought into use for Coronavirus-infected people in order to provide service quickly and easy manner.

Mayor and Deputy-Mayor handed over the key of their vehicles to Corona focal person Keshav Bhattarai today.

Similarly, the municipality has brought a 40-bed isolation center providing the service of Corona Hospital into operation at Shankarnagar. Activities have been forwarded in order to construct a 60-bed isolation center at Ward no 9.
