76 vaccination centers for second phase of vaccination in Chitwan



CHITWAN:  Vaccination is taking place in 73 locations in the district starting Sunday, under the second phase of nationwide vaccination against Coronavirus.

Citizens above 65 years of age are being immunized in the campaign initiated by the government.

A total of 29,000 dozes of the COVID-19 vaccines have been received and will be rolled out from 73 different vaccination centers, said chief of Health Office, Chitwan Dipak Tiwari.

According to the latest statistics, the total population of people above 65 is 65,606 in Chitwan. Altogether 479 health workers are being mobilized to carry out the vaccination program.

The vaccination will start tomorrow and run for a week until March 13. In the first phase, 13,500 people had been administered the COVID-19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, the total number of Coronavirus infections has reached 6,862 in the district. There are still 49 active cases in Chitwan, the health office said. Of the infected, 109 succumbed to the virus. RSS
