Bhagirathi Bhatta murder case: Six arrested for interrogation

BAITADI: Police have arrested six people for interrogation in the case of Bhagirathi Bhatta, a 17-year-old girl who was found dead in Baitadi last Thursday.

According to police, they have been arrested for questioning during the investigation into the incident with the involvement of an SSP at the Province Police Office and the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB).

Meanwhile, the Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has demanded action against those involved in the rape and murder.

Chairmen Madhav Kumar Nepal and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said in a statement on Saturday that they were shocked by the incident.

“We strongly condemn the brutal and inhumane treatment meted out to a 17-year-old girl on her way home from school,” the statement said.

The Dahal-Nepal group has accused the state of failing to provide peace and security to the common man.
