Boxer Abiral to participate in K-1 Festival in Japan



KATHMANDU: Popular international youth boxer, Abiral Ghimire, is taking part in the ‘K-1 Festival’ going to be held on March 28, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.

He is competing with famous Japanese pugilist Kotu as well.

Only world-famous boxers can compete in the Festival. Abiral, whose nickname is ‘Himalayan Cheetah’, is the first Nepali youth player to participate in the competition at youngest age.

Abiral, who has tasted historic success in boxing at a relatively young age, had clinched the second position in the world-renowned K-1 Kick-boxing International Championship 2020′ held recently. He also became the first youngest boxer to take part in the competition from Nepal.

The 21-year-old boxer Abiral conceded defeat to Brazilian player Phillip only due to technical reason in that competition.

Abiral is the son of international boxer and boxing coach dev Kumar Ghimire. He is now practicing for the competition under his father’s special coaching.

Residents of Gurjudhara, Chandragiri Municipality-12 in Kathmandu, they have been living in Nagoya city of Japan for the last five years.

It is stated that the Festival is seen with high importance by the international sports fraternity including Japan. RSS
