KATHMANDU: Defeated Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa held a meeting with his close aides at a hotel in Kathmandu and decided not to “shoulder” former King Gyanendra Shah anymore.

The conclusion was reached at a preliminary review meeting with elected officials from the Thapa camp after Thapa lost to Rajendra Lingden in the recently concluded General Convention.

Apart from Chairman Linden, Vice Chairman Bikram Pandey and General Secretary Dhawal Shamsher Rana, most of the central office bearers, who won as central committee members and office bearers were present at the meeting.

According to the participants in the meeting, members of the former king’s secretariat Pashupati Bhakta Maharjan, Sagar Timalsina and Phaniraj Pathak among others, met the delegates and leaders of the party and created an atmosphere against Thapa.
