KATHMANDU: CPN-Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has tried to justify the UML’s split by circulating an internal circular.

After UML Chairman KP Oli did not agree with the party’s first inter-party directive, they were forced to revolt, said Chairman Nepal. Nepal accused Oli of violating the mandate set by the Ninth General Convention, defaming the communist movement and dissolving the House of Representatives, among others.

Nepal concluded that the 10-point agreement was only deception on Oli’s part and alleged that the task force formed to resolve the UML dispute did not try to understand the trick. He also mentioned that he had re-organized the party.

A five-member Standing Committee and 12 leaders have been appointed in-charge of the provinces and party’s departments in the circular.

The circular also instructed to expedite the process of building the party. It is also asked to hold national rallies, form party organizations at the state, district and local levels, hold rallies and distribute organized membership.
