1 killed, 10 injured in Sankhuwasabha truck mishap



BIRATNAGAR: A person has died and 10 others sustained injuries when a mini-truck has met with an accident at Chichila rural municipality, Pattal in Sakhuwasabha district.

The deceased has been identified as mini-truck driver Janak Pandey, 30, of Dankuta District, informed SP Basudev Khatiwada, the chief of Province 1 Traffic Police.

The accident took place when the ill-fated mini-truck, Padesh, 1-02-001 Kha 8083, was heading to the district headquarters Khandbari from Num, carrying workers of Arun III hydro project on Saturday night.

The injured have been taken to District Hospital, Khandbari. The mini-truck had fallen around 100 meters from the road, said Khatiwada.
