Nepal taking on India in 2nd friendly match today



KATHMANDU: Nepal is taking on India in its second friendly match at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor at 5:30 pm today.

Nepal and India are playing a friendly match as part of preparation for the South Asian Football Federation (SAAF) Championship to be held in the Maldives. The SAAF Championship will take place from October 1 to 16.

Nepal played 1-1 draw in a friendly match against India at Dasharath Stadium on Thursday in the first of the two friendlies. Anjan Bista scored for Nepal in the 36th minute of the match.

Nepal had maintained the lead till half time. Anirudra Thapa of India scored in the 14th minute of the second half.

If Nepal performs well in today’s match and wins, Nepal’s position in the FIFA rankings will improve.

Earlier, Nepal had defeated India in the SAFF Championship held in 2013.
