Budget endorsement tough nut to crack for Bagmati

MAKWANPUR: It has been a hard nut to crack for Bagmati Pradesh to endorse the budget for the fiscal year 2021/22.

Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Kailash Prasad Dhungel had tabled the budget of Rs 57,720,927,000 in the Provincial Assembly on June 15. It has not yet been endorsed due to intra-party dispute of the ruling CPN-UML.

Opposition lawmakers have been commenting that the budget has not addressed the problems of COVID-19 victims, disaster management and the distribution is not scientific.

At a time when the opposition lawmakers are all set to fail the budget, its endorsement has become further complicated after the leaders of Nepal-Khanal faction followed suit.
