SYC near the way to promotion; Madhyapur defeat Pulchok

KATHMANDU: The 4-1 victory against Bansbari Club(BC) has taken Satdobato Youth Club (SYC) to one win away from being promoted to ‘A’ Division in the Martyr’s Memorial ‘B’ Division League on Friday.

With Friday’s win, SYC have 25 points from nine matches and have two matches to play. Second-placed Khumaltar Youth Club (KYC) also have two matches remaining with 22 points. Since SYC have better head-to-head result against KYC, they are at a comfortable position to be promoted if they win one of their remaining two matches.

In today’s match, Ashim Rai opened the scoring for SYC in the 11th minute. Their lead was doubled in the added minutes of the first half when BC’s Amrit Shrestha scored suicidal. Prabesh Basnet added a third in the 52nd and Dinesh Rai made it 4-0 10 minutes after.

Although Nishan Sunar scored one in the 77th minute, it was too little and too late to mount any challenge for BC.

BC have 18 points from nine matches in the third position.

In the second match, Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) defeated Pulchok Sports Club (PSC) with Dhiraj Shrestha scoring a brace for MYA.
