PM Oli silent on the issue of arms with Biplav: NC

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has sought an answer from Prime Minister KP Oli asking him as did not raise the issue of arms during the peace agreement with Netra Bikram Chand “Biplav”.

NC Spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma, in a tone of sarcasm, recalled Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda’s” statement during the peace process who had then claimed that flooded rivers had swept away their guns.

“When Prachanda came, the river swept away their arms. Now that, the agreement is silent on the issue of guns. The whole country wants an answer to this serious question,” Sharma has said.

He welcomed the agreement signed between the government and the Biplav group, however, with cautiousness recalling the names of the communist movements such as the “KP-CP in 2028 BS”, Prachanda-Baburam in 2052 BS, now Biplab-Prakanda.

“Only the names are different,” Sharma has said.
