Kalikot folks happy with Chand-led party joining peaceful activities



KALIKOT: Folks in Kalikot are found happy with the three-point agreement forged between Government and the Netra Bikram Chand-led party.

The adversely affected district Kalikot during a decade long Maoist insurgency now is found happy with the new political beginning by the Chand-led party.

The district has lost 600 locals to the Maoist conflict. The talks team coordinator Khadga Bahadur Bishwakarma is a permanent resident of the district who led the talks to fruitful conclusion brought the cheers on the faces of the folks in the district.

However, the locals were in tension with the continuity of the insurgency by the Chand-led party even after the end of the decade-long Maoist war in 2006.

Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Oli faction district chair Nagendra Shahi shared that the locals were now pleased with the end of terror after the Chand-led party entered peaceful politics.

Similarly, Chand-led party district secretary Mnai Lal Aidi shared that they were inspired to expand the party organization in the peaceful movement. RSS
