KATHMANDU: A Parliamentary Party meeting of Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is underway at Singha Durbar in Kathmandu.

The meeting has been called to discuss the faction’s future course of action after the expulsion of the faction’s decision of ousting Parliamentary Party leader KP Oli, Deputy Leader Subash Nembang, and Whip Shanta Chaudhary, among other leaders.

On Thursday, the faction informed the Parliament Secretariat about its decision of ousting KP Oli, Deputy Leader Nembang, and Whip Chaudhary.

The faction of the NCP in a letter submitted to the Parliament Secretariat has formally informed that it has expelled Prime Minister Oli from the party.

In the letter to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” said that the meeting of the majority members of the Central Committee held on February 1 had expelled Oli from the party.

Prachanda, in the letter, has said that any letter or move taken by Prime Minister Oli or anyone else in the name of the leader of the Parliamentary Party would not be acceptable and would be deemed unauthorized.

Faction leaders, including Dev Gurung, Pampha Bhusal, Dinanath Sharma, among others had reached the Secretariat’s office in Singha Durbar on Thursday with the letter.

It should be noted that on Wednesday, a central working committee meeting of the Prachanda-Nepal faction had expelled PM Oli from the Parliamentary Party leader.
