China announces providing 500,000 COVID-19 vaccines

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali and Chinese Minister for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi held a telephonic conversation this evening.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang announced that China will provide 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Nepal on a grant basis and stated that China would accord priority to Nepal in vaccine cooperation, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Gyawali thanked the Chinese government for the support of the COVID-19 vaccine and appreciated China’s stance to make it global public goods, reads a press statement.
