NC appeals to all for peaceful protest against HoR dissolution

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has called on all to protest against the ‘unconstitutional’ move of Prime Minister KP Oli.

In a statement on Friday, NC spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma said that the protest was launched as the move to dissolve the House of Representatives was ‘unconstitutional, undemocratic and a move towards totalitarian’.

He has further appealed to all parties and organizations to carry out peaceful agitation.

Sharma said that NC has been presenting itself in a dignified manner in both the parliament and the streets against the anti-people tendencies

“Despite many incidents, we did not organize a general strike. We are determined to escalate the protests against the unconstitutional move but are committed to not organize a strike that will hit people hard. We would like to make the same appeal to all the parties and organizations standing against the dissolution,” he said.

The party is protesting against HoR dissolution on Saturday.
