Jhapa sees nine dengue cases in ten days



JHAPA: A total of nine dengue patients have been found in two local levels in Jhapa district recently.

Five cases were reported in Birtamod Municipality and four in Mechinagar Municipality, according to the record maintained at the Department of Health at Birtamod Municipality.

The dengue patients have already returned home from hospital after enjoying full recovery, said Manmohan Hospital’s Dr Subesh Shaurab.

The Hospital has treated nine dengue patients during 10 days, said Dr Shaurab.

Most of the patients were laborers and most of the cases were reported from areas adjoining to the Siddhartha Hotel in ward no 4, said Health Department’s focal person Tulsi Pokharel.

Local authority is coordinating with the health workers and people’s representatives and locals to destroy the larva in the town area.

As many as 500 cases of dengue were reported in the district two years ago. Among them, over two dozens succumbed to it, according to the Department of Health. (RSS)
