RPP Gen Convention: Thapa and Lingden vie for leadership as RPP goes for polls today



KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is holding an election to elect a new leadership of the party today.

The general convention which kicked off in Kathmandu on Wednesday is holding an election to elect the new central committee of the party through an electronic voting system.

Besides chairman, four vice chairpersons, three general secretaries and 141 central committee members will be elected through the general convention.

The voting is taking place through an electronic voting machine. The voting will take place as early as possible since the final-list of the candidates has already been published.

A total of 100 voting machines are being used in the general convention.

Leaders Kamal Thapa and Rajendra Lingden with panels are contesting elections for the post of party chairman.

There are 4,400 voters in the general convention of RPP.
