NC leaders trio discusses active membership dispute, general convention



KATHMANDU: The top three leaders of the Nepali Congress (NC) have held discussion on resolving the active membership dispute in the party and the ongoing general convention.

At a meeting held at the residence of former NC general secretary Prakash Man Singh in Chaksibari on Monday, General Secretary Shashank Koirala, Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi and leader Singh reached a three-point agreement to resolve the active membership dispute.

They concluded that disputes in the remaining districts should be settled at the earliest; the disputes should not be allowed to affect the schedule of General Convention, and the convention should be held within the stipulated time.

Similarly, the three leaders also agreed that the government ought to get give full shape at the earliest. Lastly, they also reached an understanding to intensify discussions to form a common strategy for the ongoing general convention. All three are aspirants for NC leadership.
