Woman found dead in Salyan, Police nab three in murder allegation

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested three persons in connection of a death of a woman heading to her maternal way in Salyan.

According to DSP Govinda Thapa, the Chief of Salyan District Police, Ramkali Khatri, 54, of Gairi in Bagchaur Municipality-2 was found dead on her way to her parental home.

DSP Thapa informed that as no other vehicular movements were noticed on the way, the JCB driver, co-driver and the owner of the JCB are arrested for investigation.

“Apart from JCB, no other means of transport was operating on the road at that time,” said DSP Thapa.

According to DSP Thapa, the victim’s ears, back and hands were trampled by the vehicle.

Khatri who had set out for her parental home at around 5 PM on Saturday was found dead at around 7.30 PM on Sunday.

DSP Thapa said that the distance between Khatri’s house and her mother’s house was about three kilometers and she was found dead on the way.

“We also brought trained dogs from Banke for the investigation,” said DSP Thapa. “The dogs have also helped in the investigation.”

According to the police, the suspicion has increased as JCB was carrying out road maintenance work on the road where Khatri was walking.
