KATHMANDU: Sixty-five employees of banks and financial institutions have filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on Sunday seeking exemption from forcibly being included in the Social Security fund (SSF).
The petitioners demanded an order seeking to be free from forced inclusion into the SSF and not being penalized for choosing to be excluded from the SSF. They have said that the services and facilities they been enjoying would be curtailed if they join the SSF.
The bankers have reached the court after the SSF directed all employees to join the SSF by mid-July.
In the writ of bank employees, the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Ministry of Finance, Social Security Fund and various banks have been named defendants.
