According to Supreme Court (SC) sources, a meeting of the full court held on Friday decided to continue the hearing on the writs on constitutional bench till June 14.

Hearings of regular writ petitions have been adjourned at the apex court since the enforcement of prohibitory orders in the valley.

However, the procedures relating to the review of the cases of the inmates of criminal offence and other cases continued during the prohibitory periods earlier will not be affected by the decisions.

The full meeting decided the same in case of high court, district court, other courts and tribunals as per the previous provisions.

Though discussions were held on the formation of a constitutional bench, no new decisions were made concluding the prevalent provisions do not require the change as they let the Chief Justice appoint judges according to the seniority order if he wants.
