Baglung extends lockdown for one week more



BAGLUNG: Baglung has extended the lockdown enforced to curb the coronavirus pandemic for one more week.

According to Baglung’s Chief District Officer Shiva Kumar Karki, the meeting of District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (DCCMC) held on Friday decided to extend the lockdown as the rate of coronavirus infection has not decreased.

CDO Karki said that a meeting of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee (DCCMC) on Friday decided to extend lockdown one more week.

He informed that some services formerly restricted during the lockdown will experience relaxation.

“The operation of banks and financial institutions has been relaxed and now the banks and financial institutions will be open from 7 am to 10 am on Wednesday and Sunday,” he said.

After extension, the lockdown will prevail till June 14.

There are 1,078 active cases of coronavirus in the district. Most of them are in home isolation.

Similarly, 43 people have lost their lives due to the coronavirus related complications in the district.

According to District Health Office, Baglung,  the number of coronavirus virus cases in the district has reached 3,881 till date.
