SWC asks I/NGOs to allocate some fund to fight against COVID-19



KATHMANDU: The Social Welfare Council (SWC) has directed the non-governmental and international non-government organizations (INGOs) working in the field of the social sector to provide a certain amount for the prevention and control of COVID-19 from their ongoing projects.

The SWC urged such organizations to provide support to the government prioritized areas fixed by the Ministry of Health and Population after shifting the budget from the approved projects from the Council. I/NGOs now could provide health-related equipment.

The organizations operating the project up to Rs 50 million could provide their 20 percent of the total budget, projects having a budget of Rs 100 million could provide up to 15 percent, projects having Rs 250 million could provide their 10 percent, and organization operating project of Rs 500 million could provide seven percent of their budget.

Similarly, organizations running projects of more than Rs 500 million could provide five percent of their budget.
