Karnali Province UML PP meeting being held today



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the CPN-UML parliamentary party (PP) of Karnali Pradesh is being held today.

The meeting will discuss the no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Mahendra Bahadur Shahi and the formation of a new government under his own leadership, said Gulab Jung Shah, chief whip of the UML parliamentary party.

The province government led by Chief Minister Shahi is in a minority.

The CPN-UML has 20 seats in the 39-member Karnali State Assembly out of which nine lawmakers are close to the Madhav Nepal faction.

Similarly, while the Maoist Center has 12 seats, the Nepali Congress has six seats. The Rastriya Prajatantra Party has one lawmaker.
