KATHMANDU: Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prachanda-Nepal faction Madhav Kumar Nepal has accused Prime Minister KP Oli of being an autocratic ruler.

While inspecting the general strike enforced by the faction on Thursday, leader Nepal said that they were compelled to go for the strike due to Oli’s character.

Leader Nepal said that they were forced to take to the streets as the Oli-led government was violating the constitution one after another.

He also said that Prime Minister Oli was not in favor of the constitution, republic, and federalism.

Nepal said that Oli made the appointment ‘unconstitutionally’ even after the Speaker sent back the constitutional appointment.

“The prime minister of the caretaker government has violated the constitution and is moving forward in an authoritarian manner. Oli is an autocratic ruler and is not in favor of the constitution, republic, and federalism,” leader Nepal said.

He argued that the general strike was to protest against the unconstitutional dictatorship of the caretaker government.
