Man arrested while trafficking woman to UAE



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man on the charge of attempt to trafficking a woman to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Jit Bahadur Bhujel alias Mangale Tamang, 35, of Mahottari and currently living in Chabahil in Kathmandu was arrested by the Anti-Human Trafficking Bureau of Nepal Police.

Bhujel had taken a woman to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) saying that he would send her to the UAE for domestic work.

When questioned by the police, it was found that she was being trafficked to the UAE on a visit visa.

A police team deployed from the bureau arrested Bhujel from Sukedhara based on the complaint filed by the victim.

The law enforcement agency said that an investigation into the cases was underway after seeking remand from Kathmandu District Court.
