Prachanda-Nepal faction dismisses Pokharel, Gurung as province In-charges



KATHMANDU: The Prachanda-Nepal faction of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has dismissed Prithvi Subba Gurung and Shankar Pokharel as province In-charges.

A Standing Committee meeting of the faction held at the party’s office in Peris Danda removed Gurung and Pokharel as the party’s In-charges from Gandaki and Lumbini provinces respectively.

The meeting appointed Devendra Poudel as the party’s In-charge for Gandaki and Yuvaraj Gyawali for Lumbini.

Madhav Nepal chaired today’s SC meeting as another Chairman of the faction Pushpa Kamal Dahal has left for India for the treatment of his ailing wife Sita Dahal.

The disgruntled faction has already announced the second phase of protest programs against the Oli-led government and the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

As per the announced programs, the faction is organizing cadres’ orientation programs from ward to municipality level starting today.
