Unified Socialist Chair Nepal against commercialization of education, health sectors

KATHMANDU: Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal has stressed the need for freeing education and health sectors from commercialization.

Quality and professionalism are essential in these sectors to ensure the welfare of the people. “Teachers are vehicles for changes. Socialism is social justice and transformation. Teachers should guide others to stick to good deeds and research,” he said while inaugurating the first national convention of the Progressive Nepal National Teachers’ Association.

He suggested that the state and concerned authorities should focus on teachers’ perks and facilities and promotion of quality education. In another context, stating that authoritarianism in country’s politics has interfered with the constitution, he said that they were forced to rebel within the CPN (UML) after the spirit of loyalty and dedication was decayed.

The two-day conference was attended by school teachers from 73 districts across the country.
