NC Municipal Convention: Results of five municipalities of Kathmandu announced

KATHMANDU: The results of the Nepali Congress (NC) municipality convention of the Kathmandu district are being announced.

According to the latest results, Kumar Lama has been elected as the chairman of the Gokarneshwar Municipal Working Committee.

His nearest rival Ramji Shrestha received 93 votes while Lama got 109 votes.

Batu Krishna Dhungel and Bikas Shrestha received 120 and 115 votes respectively.

Likewise, Jayaram Bista and Ramesh Rijal have been elected as Secretaries, while Ashok Nepal and Gokul Prasad Simkhada have been elected as Joint Secretaries.

Most members are elected from the Lama group.

Dilip Kumar Shrestha won the voting by acquiring 86 votes in Sankharapur Municipality. His nearest rival Satyaman Lama got 68 votes.

Milan Khadka and Amit Pradhan have been elected as two Vice-Presidents.

Ratna Bahadur Tamang and Swayambhulal Shrestha have been elected as Secretaries.

Basanta Thing and Shri Ram Lamichhane have been elected as Joint Secretaries in the Sankharapur Municipality.

Uddhav Dahal has been elected as the chairman of the Kageshwari-Manahara Municipality.

He received 151 votes. His nearest rival Mitharam Dahal got 138 votes, according to the Election Committee.

Krishna Hari Maharjan has been elected as the president of the Nepali Congress Tarkeshwor Municipality. He won with 135 votes. His nearest rival Shri Ram Thapa got 114 votes.

Similarly, Nawaraj Aryal and Jamuna Timilsina have secured 91,250 and 91,230 votes respectively. Raju Phuyal and Shankar Timilsina have secured 91,260 and 91,170 votes respectively.

Meanwhile, Rajaram Budhathoki has been elected as the chairman of Budhanilkantha Municipality with 155 votes.

His nearest rival Rajan Budhathoki lost by 68 votes.

According to the Election Committee, Sanukancha Shrestha won 91810 and Shambhu Karki received 91,700 votes, Bijendra Shrestha 92,660 votes, Bijendra Pudasaini 91710 votes, Kumar Khadka 91450 votes, and Nirmala Acharya Poudel got 128 votes.
