Urge to promote more tourism in Lumbini



KATHMANDU: The Buddha Foundation UK, a charity organization, has urged the Government of Nepal to promote and protect Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha.

In a memorandum submitted to the government through the Nepalese Embassy in London, the Foundation has requested to launch additional promotional programs at the international level about the Buddha’s birthplace.

A memorandum was handed over to Ambassador Lokdarshan Regmi by Deepak Shrestha, Chairman of the Foundation and other officials.

The memorandum called for further promotion of Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, which conveys the message of non-violence and peace to the world, and to include Lumbini in the passport.
