PM Deuba stops transfer of four health officials including Jageshwor Gautam



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed not to implement the transfer made by the Minister of State for Health and Health Umesh Shrestha.

Deuba has instructed to stop the transfer of four health officers including Prof Dr. Jageshwor Gautam, chief of COVID-19 Unified Central Hospital (Bir Hospital).

Deuba has blocked the implementation saying that the Minister of State cannot make such a decision.

A high-ranking official of the Ministry of Health also confirmed that the Prime Minister’s Office has instructed not to implement the decision.

The transfer of Gautam, Dr. Rudra Marasini, the head of the National Trauma Center, Bibek Lal Karna of the SAARC Tuberculosis Center, and Rita Bhandari Joshi has been stopped for time being.
