UML’s Nepal faction says PM Oli is against party unity

KATHMANDU: The Madhav Nepal faction of the CPN-UML has lambasted the Chairman KP Oli faction for not being serious about the party unity.

Even though the second rung leaders of the UML have expedited talks, there has been no positive indication for party unity.

Leaders close to the Nepal faction including Surendra Pandey, Ghanashyam Bhusal, Gokarna Bista, and Yogesh Bhattarai are making efforts to unify the party and save the party from a split.

A meeting of the faction held on Thursday concluded that the Oli faction of the party was not serious about the party and that the ongoing talks were only a strategy to buy time, according to Surendra Pandey, a leader of the Nepal faction.

As the UML is almost on the verge of a split deal due to the tussle between party Chairman Oli and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal, the second generation leaders are endeavoring to save the party.

The leaders, however, have not been able to narrow down the differences.
