KMC gives continuity to antigen test



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is to give continuity to antigen test again from today.
The KMC started carrying out antigen tests from today as a preparation to continue the test until the effect of COVID-19 comes under control.

Chief of Public Health Department of KMC, Hari Bahadur Kunwar, said that every ward would carry out tests determining the center as per their convenience for the same.

One can get the report of coronavirus immediately from the antigen test.

Kunwar added that they have continued the antigen test as the plan of isolating the COVID-19 infected people from the community.

The antigen test has been given continuity targeting people with COVID symptoms, contract tracing people, front-liner, and workers working during prohibitory order.

The KMC has requested the people of the target group and COVID-19 suspected people to visit their convenience center for the test.

Only 5,760 people underwent antigen tests at the KMC against its target of carrying out an antigen test of 50,000 people.

It had launched a special campaign from May 28 to June 1. Of them, 479 people tested positive for COVID-19.
